Resolute distinguishes itself in the sustainable development category
Resolute received the Mercure award for Sustainable Development at the 2017 Mercuriades Gala held April 24, 2017. The company earned praise from the jury for its involvement in the Toundra Greenhouse project in Saint-Félicien (Quebec). The Mercuriades, created by the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec in 1981, is the province’s most prestigious business competition, celebrating the ambition, innovation and performance of Quebec businesses.

Resolute wins two international sustainability awards for carbon leadership
Resolute won two 2016/2017 Peer Awards for Excellence for demonstrating leadership in carbon reduction and reporting. Our success in reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 73% over 2000 levels in 2016 – and the comprehensiveness and transparency of our carbon reporting – won Resolute a Corporate Responsibility Award in the sustainability category, as well as an Industry Sector Award in the manufacturing category. Resolute’s carbon leadership was also acknowledged in the Global Region Awards in the international category. The Peer Awards for Excellence celebrate tangible accomplishments and innovative ideas in global business.

Resolute has earned two awards from the prestigious Mercury competition for our 2015 Annual Report: gold for overall excellence in the combined financial and sustainability report category, and honors for excellence in writing in the annual report category. The International Mercury Awards Competition honors the best in public relations, public affairs and corporate communications.

Kénogami mill wins for safety record and innovation
The Pulp and Paper Technical Association of Canada (PAPTAC) has honored Resolute's Kénogami (Quebec) paper mill with the 2017 Safety Leadership Award in recognition of the facility's ongoing efforts to improve safety performance and create an injury-free workplace. In addition to Resolute's overall world-class safety record, the award highlights the mill's development of an innovative chemical protective suit, which is safer, eco-friendly and more comfortable to wear.
Canada's Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders
Resolute: one of Canada’s innovation leaders
For the sixth consecutive year, Resolute has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders. The annual ranking is prepared by Research Infosource Inc. and highlights Canada’s most innovative corporations. Some of Resolute’s innovative projects include: a project to deploy enzyme-enabled carbon capture technology at our Saint-Félicien (Quebec) pulp mill in partnership with CO2 Solutions; our wood pellet plant in Thunder Bay (Ontario), which generates carbon-neutral renewable energy; and our joint venture with Mercer International to develop commercial applications for cellulose filaments, a new source of biomaterial made of wood fiber.
