APA – The Engineered Wood Association Safety and Health Awards
Top honors in safety for two Resolute joint-venture mills
Our Resolute-LP – Larouche and Saint-Prime (Quebec) joint-venture engineered wood facilities were honored by APA – The Engineered Wood Association with safest company and 3-year safety awards, as well as named to APA’s Incident-Free Honor Society for 2016. APA is a non-profit trade association that represents U.S. and Canadian manufacturers of engineered wood products. Its safety and health awards program – one of the foremost in the North American engineered wood industry – encourages and recognizes safety and operational excellence.
CN EcoConnexions Partnership Program Awards
Resolute recognized again for carbon reduction and energy efficiency
On April 6, 2017, Canadian National Railway (CN) recognized Resolute for the second year for its commitment toward an efficient and more sustainable future with a 2017 CN EcoConnexions Partnership Award. These awards are given annually to CN customers who are working to reduce carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency across their supply chains through energy efficiency programs, sustainability policies, public reporting to the CDP, and through their modal shift to rail. To recognize the sustainability efforts of their EcoConnexion Partners, CN has planted 210,000 trees to date in areas that have been devastated by fire or flood, to help rehabilitate agricultural land or to provide wind barriers and soil mitigation.
Resolute distinguishes itself in the sustainable development category
Resolute received the Mercure award for Sustainable Development at the 2017 Mercuriades Gala held April 24, 2017. The company earned praise from the jury for its involvement in the Toundra Greenhouse project in Saint-Félicien (Quebec), an innovative joint venture in which Resolute is one of the main partners. The complex, which was inaugurated last December, already covers 1 million square feet (8.5 hectares), produces 45 million cucumbers a year, and employs over 100 workers. Once all four construction phases are completed in 2020, the greenhouse will cover about 4 million square feet (34 hectares), and will create 400 jobs in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. The project involves a total investment of C$100 million. The Mercuriades, created by the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec in 1981, is the province’s most prestigious business competition, celebrating the ambition, innovation and performance of Quebec businesses.

Resolute wins two international sustainability awards for carbon leadership
Resolute won two 2016/2017 Peer Awards for Excellence for demonstrating leadership in carbon reduction and reporting. Our success in reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 73% over 2000 levels in 2016 – and the comprehensiveness and transparency of our carbon reporting – won Resolute a Corporate Responsibility Award in the sustainability category, as well as an Industry Sector Award in the manufacturing category. Resolute’s carbon leadership was also acknowledged in the Global Region Awards in the international category. The Peer Awards for Excellence celebrate tangible accomplishments and innovative ideas in global business. Finalists present their initiatives for review by fellow finalists – a unique process that allows judging by an audience of peers in the areas of corporate responsibility, customer engagement, and people and performance. Winners were announced on March 24, 2017, in London, United Kingdom.
