Tracing our products to the source
Chain of custody certification is a third-party confirmation that the Company has the systems and controls necessary to track the source of certified fiber in its products.
All of our pulp and paper mills and wood products facilities in Canada and the U.S. have fiber-tracking systems in place that allow us to identify the source of the fiber or wood used. Most of these tracking systems are third-party certified according to one or more of these internationally recognized chain of custody (CoC) standards:
- Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain of Custody Standard
- Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Chain of Custody Standard
- Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) Annex 4 Standard
CoC certification standards include minimum criteria for non-certified sources.
