Our sustainability strategy, based on a balanced approach to environmental, social and economic performance, is designed to enhance our competitive position, ensure the responsible management of resources in our care, and generate positive socio-economic impacts. Aligned with the principles of the circular economy, the strategy is supported by public commitments under four pillars:

- engage and collaborate with our operating communities, contributing to their prosperity

The overall responsibility for our sustainability performance resides with our president and chief executive officer, while we rely on our sustainability committee to support the delivery of our key commitments and implement related plans. The committee is governed by a charter, which defines its role, responsibilities and membership.

Sustainability Reporting Frameworks
We have prepared reports in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines for sustainability reporting since 2010. The GRI Standards are some of the world's most broadly accepted guidelines for comprehensive sustainability reporting, providing a robust framework for linking key performance indicators to shared priority issues identified by our stakeholders and strategic partners.
Some visitors to our site may find it useful to use the GRI content index to find management disclosures and data on specific indicators. The compliance of our 2020 GRI-based sustainability reporting was verified in June 2021.
Our sustainability strategy also aligns with the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. In 2021, we successfully integrated eight of the 17 SDGs into our sustainability reporting. Our UN SDGs page outlines how we are aligning our sustainability performance with the relevant SDG targets.
Our sustainability reporting also follows the SASB Standards for forestry management and pulp & paper products.
