Resolute wins a Gold Stevie for all of the U.S. and Canada
On August 10, 2017, Resolute was announced as the winner of a Gold Stevie® by the 2017 International Business Awards (IBAs) for having the best Health, Safety and Environment Program of the Year for all of the U.S. and Canada. In selecting Resolute for this high honor, the judges cited the company’s proactive safety management system and Resolute’s ability to balance our environmental, social and economic responsibilities, saying, “An excellent HSE program that is built within the overall business strategy of Resolute.” The IBAs are the only international, all-encompassing business awards program recognizing outstanding performance in the workplace. The 2017 Gold Stevie will be presented to Resolute at a gala on October 21st in Barcelona, Spain.

Most Environmentally Responsible Company of the Year
Resolute wins silver at global business awards competition
On July 26, 2017, Resolute was announced as the winner of the silver award in the most environmentally responsible company of the year category at the Best in Biz Awards International, the only independent global business awards program judged by prominent members of the press and industry analysts. Over 300 companies from 30+ countries competed in the 2017 program, with 25 judges from 16 countries selecting the winners. In honoring Resolute, the judges cited our industry-leading carbon-reduction performance, our inaugural Canadian membership in the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition and our ongoing investments in innovative technology, including enzyme-enabled carbon-capture technology at our Saint-Félicien (Quebec) pulp mill, as well as our wood pellet plant in Thunder Bay (Ontario).
Carbon Footprint Category
Resolute Forest Products was presented with a Novae Award in the carbon footprint category during the 2017 Novae Awards ceremony held on June 15, in Montréal. The company was recognized for its participation in Toundra Greenhouse, located in Saint-Félicien, Lac-Saint-Jean (Quebec). The Novae Awards for Corporate Citizenship reward best practices in social responsibility and sustainable development in Quebec.

Resolute wins top project award for Toundra Greenhouse joint venture
At the 2017 Environmental Leader Conference, held June 5-7 in Denver (Colorado), Resolute received an Environmental Leader of the Year Award for jointly developing Toundra Greenhouse, a recently inaugurated world-class complex. The Environmental Leader Product and Project Awards is a program recognizing excellence in products/services and projects that provide companies with environmental, sustainability and energy management benefits. Winners are awarded Top Product or Top Project of the Year based on scores from a panel of distinguished judges. The judges were especially impressed with the innovative nature of the Toundra Greenhouse business model as well as its environmental and social benefits.
